"Measures up"? Your mother must be phenomenal in the kitchen, then. I'm still shocked at some of the stuff Lorna can put together. Although I'm not convinced to try this vichyssoise stuff yet. Soup's not SUPPOSED to be cold.

My Mama is phenomenal is darn near everything, actually.

But I will admit, without a doubt, that Lorna is a genius when it comes to food. She made me this very strange cucumber soup once when I was sick and you would think it would be disgusting but no! Surprisingly good. And cold.

Cucumber? Okay, ew and ew. That's one step away from raw pickle soup. That *is* raw pickle soup, come to think of it.

Oh, tsk. Don't knock it 'till you've tried it. Snob.

I mean, what? You're planning on living on peanut butter and jelly and Kraft Dinner the rest of your life? Maybe we could build you up to cucumber.

There's fast food in there too, you know! A growing boy (well, not so much on the growing part) needs his balanced nutrition, you know. Equal parts caffeine, nacho cheese, burgers, and jalapenos to cover the vegetable requirements.

I have a sudden urge to track you down and feed you oatmeal.

I promise not to put cucumbers in it.

[identity profile] x-foliate.livejournal.com 2005-01-24 04:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Do iiiiit.

[identity profile] x-crowdofone.livejournal.com 2005-01-24 04:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, take her up on this one, man. Rahne does things to an oat that'd make it glad it was ground up and turned into mush.

That is quite possibly the most bizarre selling of anyone's culinary capabilities I believe I have ever heard.

And you are complaining about Twinkie sushi? I'm still trying to figure out how they're getting away with calling it nacho "cheese".

[identity profile] x-forge.livejournal.com 2005-01-24 04:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Because it falls into the same family of plastics that cheese does.
